Air fryer herbed pork chops

Air Fryer Herbed Pork Chops

These chops are juicy and full of flavor.
This goes well with macaroni salad and tabouleh.

I use an older model of this air fryer, but this is the newer version I recommend — it cooks faster, crisps better, and has the same reliability I love. You can check it out here.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F.
  2. Season all sides of pork chops with the spices.
  3. Brush the avocado oil on both sides of chops.
  4. Cook in air fryer for 12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until internal temperature reaches at least 145°F.
  5. Move chops to a plate, cover loosely with foil, and let rest 5 minutes.

Notes

  • Cook to temp, then rest: Pull the chops at 145°F and rest them 5 minutes under loose foil for juicy results.
  • Even thickness helps: Similar-sized chops cook at the same rate, so they all finish together.
  • Oil the chops: Brushing on avocado oil helps the sage and thyme stick and encourages browning.
  • Don’t crowd the basket: Leave space between chops so the hot air can circulate and crisp all sides.
  • Ribeye chops are forgiving: Their marbling keeps them moist even at the higher air-fryer heat.

Why This Works

  • Air-fryer convection: Fast-moving 400°F air sears the outside of the chops quickly, building a browned, herb-flecked crust.
  • Oil carries flavor and heat: A thin coat of avocado oil conducts heat to the surface and helps the herbs adhere and toast.
  • Rest for juiciness: Five minutes under foil lets the juices redistribute so they stay in the meat instead of on the plate.
  • Pull at 145°F: Stopping at the safe temperature keeps the pork tender and moist rather than dry.
